Today I make an exception reviewing a movie. Survival of the dead have seen the Romero film festival in Venice and I think to please a lot of talking in preview. Unfortunately, I must immediately say that the film is a deadly shit. There is an attempt, very explicitly, to a western-zombie. Two families that were fighting on an island even before the zombies continue to do so later. The film is presented as a sort of a fistful of dollars without the alien-Eastwood to do the balance. A feud that you add a group of soldiers fleeing from the continent that is part of the struggle. Finally, there further element of 'intelligence of the zombies; ANORA have a' soul? Can be treated?
short reading on the film is presented as an amended.
Unfortunately the result is sick, although I would add a considerable expense and a cast of all things good. The plot is forced and frayed in a manner so gross as to become ridiculous soon. The actors are all used excessively despite, I repeat, not bad at all. Are wasted in the wrong way, which is a very serious thing for a director. Situations, despite a frenetic speed in the script, taking place at a glacial pace unbearable. Finally there are the zombies, which here are treated very badly. They never fear, but only used to resolve situations to ridicule. There is an excessive use of splatter for no reason. It is understood that there was more than a 'flu, a clumsy attempt of cloning Horror Planet. One thing that gave me really annoyed is the zombie that appears behind the character shift that does not realize it until the end. Once, twice, three times ... Maybe in an enclosed space it could be frightening, but sometimes it happens in the Gobi desert. The protagonist turns all around, there's nothing for 6000 miles, even a butterfly, then one says shit like "seems like a safe place here," and wham, it materializes a zombie out of nowhere behind him trying to eat him. Happen forty times .... In practice, the film is an attempt to make a comedy zombesco, but after the invasion of the Dead and Planet Romero horror comes very late and very short of breath. Well I must say that the decline of Romero, who already accustomed us to a very bad film, reaches the bottom. Sconsigliatissimo.
